I am a in-home childcare provider caring for children age 8weeks-2years. I have 6 Jeep Trek Easy Travel Playards and have been very happy with them! I had them for over 2-years - using them daily and they still look like new! I needed to find a playard with a side panel for privacy between cribs and this is the one I found that was neutral in color, compact and offers storage for the children's bedding and extra clothing. The round corners makes this playard stylish and attractive. The reason for the 4 stars vs 5 stars is that a couple of the playard's came defective; however the company we ordered from exchanged them with ease. In addition, the zipper on the storage area is cheaply made. The material gets caught in them and so far 1 zipper broke. To correct this problem, you have to hold the material away from the zipper as you open it slowly. Jeep made the material to cover the zipper, however with the low quality zippers it makes it a poor design (and pain) if you have to go in and out of the storage compartment frequently. We do not use this playard for travel, so I cannot comment on the ease of use for travel.

Our baby is now three months old and has been sleeping in the Phil & Teds for a few weeks. It's lightweight and hardly takes up any space in a fully packed car. Here's the full pro & cons list:



Pros:

- Lightweight & Size

- Baby sleeps well

- Easy to clean, especially since no sheet is necessary

- Fairly easy to assemble, but not as quick as pack & plays or the baby bjorn

- Durable, at least we have not had any issues with the product unlike the other reviews

- Looks cool!



Cons:

- Does not double up as a playpen; at least we have not tried to use it as one since our baby is only three months, but I have a feeling it would not work well

- Can be painful on the back to lower and pick up a sleeping baby

- Not easy to fit everything into a bag and therefore it takes longer to breakdown then it does to put it together

- Others have pointed out that this is not likely to work for a 2-3 year old since it's not as large or as stable as a pack & play, but the jury is still out on this point for us.



Overall, I am happy with the purchase since it perfectly fit our need of traveling with the baby in a fairly small car. [...] If I spent over [...] then I have a feeling my review would be a bit harsher, but I think I got a great deal!

I have twins and decided to try ordering both a PeaPod travel bed with self-inflating mattress and this Phil and Ted's traveller travel cot for my fifteen month old twins that are very tall(outgrowing traditional pack and play/play yard). The PeaPod was much easier to assemble and over half the price, although if you want an open top similar to a crib, the PeaPod is more like a closed tent. My kids love the PeaPod so far because I have allowed them to play in it and given them play time in our home to get them more comfortable with it. I could only find one PeaPod color (camo blue, not my favorite at first) that comes with a self-inflating mattress, but the color is nice and dark for sleepy toddlers. I have to admit that I am disappointed with the Phil and Ted traveller because I don't like that the mattress has to be zippered in a nylon sleeve and the expectation is that the baby/toddler sleeps on Nylon by this company. One of the reviews on another site recommended inserting a comforter or blanket in the bottom for the baby/toddler to sleep on. For the money that I paid for this item, shouldn't a form fitted washable child pad of some sort be a part of what I purchased? The PeaPod came with a "sleeping blanket" that is very thin, shaped to the size of the product and washable. I have no idea yet what I am going to put at the bottom of this P&T's travel bed to try to convince my toddlers that it is even close to their own crib! I will update my review if I find a way to make the bottom of the P&T travel bed comfortable and safe for one of the twins.



Update: I did not put the mattress in the sleeve of P&T travel bed as instructed. I just put it inside, and used a matress pad and crib sheets from their regular crib. This worked well... Please note - This would not be an alternative for babies under 1 year. After using both types of beds for several different vacations, either one will work, but the P&T more closely resembles a smaller, more portable version of a real crib. It is more difficult to put together but it is made to be extremely sturdy. It is also more expensive, but my kids had an easier time adapting to it when we were away from home. If money is a concern, the peapod is an excellent option too (use your matress pad and crib sheets from your home), but you need to convince your kids that it is a great tent to sleep in.

My wife and I purchased two of these for our kids. We travel to the beach quite often and use one on the beach and one at the house. Our kids are far from rough on the travelers, but we have had 3 of them break on us. The stitching for the leg supports and the cords to the legs are usually the breaking piece. The good thing is that the company backs their product and after emailing them a picture of the damage, they were very quick to send out a new replacement. We are currently on our fifth and sixth ones right now, hoping that the construction will get a little better.

We just purchased this item, and we must say that we like it. We understand about the poor picture instruction, but the written instruction clearly tells you what to do. It took us less than 5min to put it together the 1st time. When you put the two shorter rails, make sure to put in the long side rails (horizontal ones) first, makes things easier that way. Our kid is almost 11mths now, she is super active, but she loves to be in it to play and to sleep. I suppose one drawback is that it does not have the place to attach sheet. Because our little one has rash on her face which she rubs on the bed, I personally made a fleece inlay with velcro so that she can sleep comfortably instead of sleeping straight on the nylon and making her cheek worse. This still fits into the bag, together with everything else. We travel overseas, especially in Asian countries, and P&T is good because many hotel rooms in Asia can be very small at times and it is nice to have the option of folding it up. We looked at other travel cot too, but we liked the size and shape of it when it was folded up, plus the fort-like look that kids love. The size may not seem the best for 3 year-old kids, depending on how big your 3yo is, but our cousin's 3yo kid likes how it is cosy. Durability? We will just have to see how long this will be at work!

Okay, so I'm a gadget guy - a lifetime of too many James Bond movies. The Phil and Teds Traveller bed is a very cool gadget - when you put it together it looks like a very small tent. Very clean look, extremely sturdy, very light, and packs up surprisingly easily into the included carrying bag (I've heard complain about that, but it is much easier than getting a real tent or air mattress back into a carrying case).



I only have three complaints, two are fairly minor. The major one is that it did take a while to figure out how to put it together - read the instructions, which aren't incredibly clear (here's the tip - put together the 4 pieces of the top of the frame, and _then_ attach to the legs). The minor ones are that the zipper is fairly loud (so you might wake up your baby when you put him into it) and because the mattress slides into a sleeve at the bottom of the travel bed, it's difficult to attach a sheet to anything.



But all three of those are fairly minor. Even the one about the instructions. After two or three times of putting the travel bed together, I can do it in minutes.



If you travel a lot, if you go camping, I would definitely recommend this travel bed.

We use this for everyday sleeping for our new baby girl. She has slept in it since coming home from the hospital. It's nice looking, very compact (which is nice for a small apartment) and sleeps her comfortably. I was worried she'd be uncomfortable, but she's always slept great in it. We never used the canopy - I think its sort of ugly, but its no big deal.



The bassinet only goes up to 15 lbs. Our baby just hit 5 months and is small at under 13 pounds. I'm not sure what we'll do from here on out - we haven't tried dropping the padding to have her sleep in the bottom yet. Honestly, I'm a bit hesitant about that. It would put her very close to the ground. I still give it five stars because its worked great for us so far. We still plan on using it as a play pen, but I'm not sure if I'll sleep her in the bottom section.



Make sure to find the sheets that go with it (we only found a couple at a local Babies R Us and it looked like they were going to stop carrying them). You'll probably have to order them online.

I just got this and can't wait to use it. Rovergear's product line is very well made. I used their stroller bag, checked it at the counter and it looked brand new when I picked it up at baggage claim. I think this playard bag will prove to be just as wonderful. We like to bring the pack n play with us everywhere when traveling because the hotel cribs just aren't up to standard and our friends don't have them, so it just makes life more comfortable to have it with us. The Rover Gear bag has been a Godsend because the cheap nylon fly covers that come with the pack n plays aren't meant from airline travel and rip very easily. This bag is really touch ripstop nylon, like one of my duffel bags I got from REI, so it makes it really easy to carry and check as luggage. The zippered opening is ingenious because it opens all the way down the side, so it only takes a second to put the pack n play in and zip it back up. Great bag!!!! A+++

Our baby is now 6 months old and we loved this product for the first 5 months. It was able to keep everything packed up inside it and traveled well. Then things started falling apart. First the handle broke. Whatever the clips are inside the handle do not hold and when we grab the handle to pull, it comes right off. We have to carry it and pull it around by a cross bar under the fabric edge. Then the zipper on the front near the Jeep logo caught the very large edge cover and the zipper broke. Now everytime we try to zip it up the one side open up.



This works great as a stationary crib in your house, but is not built with high enough quality to withstand traveling. We only used it for visiting family 5 times before it broke. It also takes up a LOT of space in your trunk. So don't plan on taking much more than this.

I've been a fan of the Jeep brand for many years, so it was natural for me to want this play yard for my new baby. Watching the videos of this online really made me think this was the best pack-n-play available. I was wrong - big time. After 1-10 uses of just the baby sleeping in this in our room, and 1 trip to a condo both zippers for the storage unit broke. The ease of putting this thing together on video is severely skewed. My wife has a lot of trouble getting it all together. Construction is poor, and the quality of the parts the same. 2 broken zippers, one bent wheel, means skip this product.



This item is on Amazon twice, so here is my review again. I wanted to make sure all purchasers of this product know what they are in for.

I bought the Jeep Trek Easy Travel Play Yard for my new grandson to sleep in when he is at my home. I like so many things about it......the large wheels make it very easy to roll around and the built in storage is very handy. My grandson is only three months old and still using bassinet, so I can't comment on the "Play Yard" aspect. I have not yet tried to pack it. Although the video makes it look very easy......I am NOT convinced. The one thing I don't like about it is that it is very difficult to get the baby in and out of the bassinet. Look at the design.....between the mobile and the changer this Grandma has to be a contortionist to get the baby in and out without hurting him. This issue will be resolved as he is about to out-grow the changer and I will take it off. :) Overall.....I really like it.

This pack 'n play is perfect for fitting through doorways unlike the deluxe version pack 'n plays I've seen. It is sturdy, easy to assemble and cute as can be with the pink pattern. the padding for the bassinet is removable, can be moved to the lower play yard easily. I assembled and disassembled this pack n play while I was recovering from my c section, so that should give you an idea of how light and easy it is to use. My daughter slept soundly in it, and it very solid and reliable for safety. A+++!

This is a WONDERFUL product at an AMAZING price! It is the same Graco Travel Lite Crib -SALLY with carry bag that another vendor is selling on Amazon for $199 - SHOCKING! My husband and I love to travel frequently and we are expecting our baby girl early next year so, I figured I'd give this travel crib a try for starters (1st 3 months). I am so glad I did!! Here's the 411:



PROS:

Fast Shipping - I ordered it Friday afternoon Standard shipping ($9.99) and got it in time for lunch the next day.

Aesthetically Pleasing- With the exception of a few wrinkles (that I can iron out) in the material of the bassinet hood it looks exactly like the picture. Very bright and cheerful.

Easy Assembly- it was easy as can be to set up alone @ 5 1/2 months pregnant. (Just remember to stiffen the opposing shorter sides of the crib 1st, while the center is popped up, then stiffen the long sides and press down the center {I used my foot for that, lol}). Crib can be done in 2 minutes after 1st time & bassinet hood maybe 10 minutes.

Portability - I love that it's light weight but sturdy enough, perfectly sized for the average baby and it fits through the average doorway and wheels room to room. I plan to take this treasure everywhere with us, for use when we fly out on our adventures.



CONS:

The mattress board is tad thin but my mom says it's perfect firmness for baby's back. Searching for the sheets might be a challenge, but since its a simple rectangle, you can always sew your own or have them made to fit.

Obviously, this sheet was custom made for this product. It fits perfectly! It is a little difficult to get on but not too bad. The material isn't very soft. That would have to be my only real complaint. I wish the sheets had been available in pink or even brown since the crib is pink and brown. all that was available was cream or green; so i chose the cream. I'd have to say that with shipping it was a bit pricey for one small sheet. Overall, great product. Thanks :)

I was prepared for these sheets to not fit well based on previous reviews, but quite honestly, they fit great! I have the "travel lite" version of the pack and play and theses are the only sheets that fit it. They don't have elastic, but they do have "pockets" that go around the outside to hold the sheet snug. I also bought the cream colored sheet and within 24 hours my newborn decided to poo on it. (yay) I washed it (even forgot to pretreat!) and the poo mark came right out!!!
