When I received the Surround play yard, two panels were broken( the knobs at the bottom that connect two panels together were snapped off and in the bottom of the box). I did not return the item because the next day I had a 15 year old beagle returning home from major neck surgery and needed it immediately. I've been using it as a pen with four panels but I definitely didn't get what I payed for.

This product is such a great product. It's very durable easy to fold and take with you anywhere you go. You can use it outside in the yard or inside. I used it for our new puppy but it would also be perfect for small children as a play pen.

This worked out perfectly for his house...i keep the door open when i'm home and closed while I'm at work...he's only broke out once in 4 months...as long as the knobs are turned tight the door will stay secure...my puppy is small and he's able to move the gate around a lot if I don't have it grounded between something so I don't think it would be so great for kids...

After reading reviews I was worried that this wouldn't be sturdy enough. It is quite sturdy and handles my lil 8 month crawler just perfectly. I absolutely love how tall it is and how easily the gate works. I have used it opened up as a barrier to block off parts of my room and as a closed play yard. My 8 month has pulled up on it without any problem with sturdiness in both set ups. I am buying the extension kit to give her more room to play.
I have opened the play yard up and attached the ends securely to the sides of my couch, essentially making the couch part of the play yard. By doing this the play area appears to be even larger and I am able to relax on the couch while my baby plays. It doesn't feel like a baby jail when you are inside the gate with the baby.

Perfect for what I needed. I wanted something that could keep my daughter from getting into things while we were busy getting some other things done. If you are going to keep your child in this for more then an hour I would suggest the extensions.
My child is not a climber but if your child is like "spider man" you may want to find something different.
